Parent Guide

Build consistency for Will without turning meals into battles.

Nibble is designed for high-friction families who need a repeatable daily structure, not extra mental load. This edition is configured for Will Gruber.

1

2-minute mission before meal

Child picks one mission style. Keep tone playful and brief.

2

Zero-pressure exposure moment

Goal is contact with food at the current level, not volume eaten.

3

Tiny plan for next meal

End with one small next step and fallback language if stress rises.

Script Bank

These are fast defaults for hard moments. Keep tone calm and neutral.

When they say no immediately

"You are in charge of your plate. We can do the smallest scout step only."

When anxiety spikes

"Pause is allowed. You can breathe, sip water, and pick the safer step."

When they complete any step

"Nice scouting. You noticed it and stayed with it. That counts."

When relatives comment

"We are following a treatment plan. Please avoid comments on intake tonight."

What to Track Weekly

  • • Number of missions started/completed.
  • • Foods moved from “not yet” to “trying.”
  • • SOS step tolerance trend (even micro gains count).
  • • Situations that reliably trigger escalation.

What Not to Do

  • • Do not remove safe foods to force exposure.
  • • Do not tie food completion to punishment.
  • • Do not compare siblings or peers.
  • • Do not escalate intensity after a panic response.
